American Pika

The American Pika is one of the cutest animals I have ever encountered in my life.  The Pika are gray-ish brown animals that have small round ears on the top of its head.  It's maximum growth is between 6 1/5 to 8 1/2 inches.  Like I said, it is small.  It's weight comes in to be 4 to 6  1/3 ounces.

When I was hiking in Colorado (let me tell you about that story later), but anyways, we stopped at a scenic overlook, and down the rocks, we saw something move!  As we walked closer, I brought out my camera.  Once I zoomed in it was sanding on its hind quarters.  It was one of the cutest things I have seen.

The American Pika is an herbivore, so it only feeds on wild flowers, herbs, and grass.  But since it lives in the high mountains, dinner is hard to find.  So before it turns snow-y it takes a lot of sun dried grass and flowers, and puts it into his/her little caves, and it acts as hay to keep warm and as food.

The American Pika lives in areas where few people go.  It lives in rocky areas, such as mountain ranges.  One of the main concerns of the American Pika is that Global Warming is driving it out of its original habitat and forcing it to move to warmer places.

I think that the american pika was a great way to start off the new blog!  Please discuss and promote my site!  Remember if you have any suggestions for me, please type below!  I love feedback!

Starting Off

Welcome to the first ever post of the blog!   We are starting simple with the American Pika.  Please promote my site, as much as you can, because it is needed.  Let me know anything, or ask any questions in the comment area beneath the posts.  Please have discussions with other viewers on thoughts of the animal that day.

I will try to post as much as I can.  But when 100 is up, let me know if you want me to continue this blog and add more known animals, or just stop also.

Thanks and Enjoy!
